Meet Eve Zguleva

Artist with a Child’s Eye View
Evé Zgulevá was born in Narva, a small town in Estonia. Just before she turned 4 years old, her life underwent a major change when her parents packed up their whole lives and moved the family to California. However, what has remained constant, as far back as Evé can remember, is her interest in art.
Evé had her first formal art class at age 12. By middle school, she was creating works of art from photographic subjects. So impressive were her skills, that Evé launched a business enterprise which was quite successful. Continuing to explore different styles over the years, Evé experimented with artistic methods to develop her own favorite medium – “painting from nature and creating a twist within.”
Evé traveled and lived in New York City for two years, where she also studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Now back in California, she currently works with her mother at a daycare. Working closely with young children gives her insight into their interests, likes and preferences, as well as their blossoming creativity. In turn, this valuable knowledge informs the designs and illustrations that she creates for their artwork and stickers. Reflecting on her job, Evé acknowledges, “the children continue to teach me every day, just as much as I do for them.” When not creating art, Evé takes care of her dogs, Astro and Arlo, who are the “pride and joy” of her life.
Her philosophy of life is to seek out the beauty that is there, whether in nature; in the children she works with; in her beloved dogs; or in the art she creates. Even to her passion for plants, she gives time and intentionality, appreciating how unique and mesmerizing each one is. Keeping in mind the blessings that God has granted to her, Evé is determined never to take even the small things in life for granted.
